Our Minstry Team

Rev. Tony Roebuck   Our first fulltime minister, Rev. Tony Roebuck, began his employment on January 4th 2012. We are very excited to have Tony and his wonderful wife, Julie. Tony has been the minister at Unity Churches in the Atlantic and Pacific states, and now in between. We believe he brings new strength and new ideas to our organization and we are thankful to him for joining our adventure. We hope you'll join us and meet him soon.

Our Emeritis Ministry Team

Here are some of the good people who worked to inspire and guide our Spiritual Community during its first three years.

Rev. Linda Pendergrass

Rev. Linda Pendergrass stepped out of retirement to serve as our community's Spriritual Leader, frequent speaker, and a member of our Board of Trustees. She is the former Senior Minister at Unity of Arlington and Unity Church of Austin.  She is well known in the Unity movement and a sought after speaker.  Linda retired January 1, 2012.

Rev. Jill Carey

Rev. Jill Carey stepped out of retirement to serve as our community's Spiritual Counselor and a frequent speaker. Previously, she was the Associate Minister at Unity Church of Austin and was the Senior Minister at Austin's Unity Center for Positive Prayer.  Jill is a fantastic speaker and she will still speak to us occasionally when Rev. Roebuck takes a break.

John Connor, L.U.T.

David Old is an active member of our congregation and leads our prayer ministry.  David recently completed one year at Unity School of Christianity and is working to become a Unity minister.  He has been a monthly speaker and has shown great potential to be a future leader of a Unity Church of his own.  For now, we appreciate him for his terrific support to the congregation and look forward to how his role will grow under Rev. Tony Roebuck.

John Connor, L.U.T.

John Connor is a Licensed Unity Teacher who taught most of our adult education classes.  In addition, John periodically spoke at Sunday Services.  John is available to officiate at weddings and other Spiritual ceremonies.  In addition to being an active member of Unity of the Hills, John is also a local hospice chaplain.

How We Started

In October 2008, a few Unity friends got together in Austin to discuss the need for a downtown Austin study group that met monthly.

Soon our founding members, Corinne Cargnoni, Sandy Crump,  Charles Mitchell, and Gary Michael Bass were joined by several like minded people and were meeting twice a month.

In the summer of 2009, the Downtown Unity Circle became a member of the Association of Unity Churches International, now known as Unity Worldwide Ministries

Beginning in September 2009, the congregation has met every Sunday of the month.  At our first meeting in 2008 had 11 people, we currently draw 40 - 50 people to each meeting.

As a new ministry under Unity Worldwide Ministries, Rev. Linda Pendergrass is our Spiritual Leader and Rev. Jill Carey is our Spiritual Coach.  John Connor is our first Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT).  We are currently seeking a fulltime minister.
