Steering Committee

At our March 15, 2009 business meeting with the congregation a steering committee was elected.  On April 15, 2009 the steering committee elected officers.  The steering committee is:

Our steering committee is meeting monthly on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM.  People who attend the current group meetings are welcome to attend.  It is the steering committee's desire to have complete transparency with the people who support the group.

How We Started

In October 2008, a few Unity friends got together in Austin to discuss the need for a downtown Austin study group that met monthly. 

Since then our founding members, Corinne Cargnoni, Sandy Crump,  Charles Mitchell, and Gary Michael Bass have been joined by several like minded people.  The group meets twice a month with a typical attendance of about 30 - 40 people.

Recently, the Downtown Unity Circle became a member of the Association of Unity Churches International.  Starting in September we will meet every Sunday of the month.  Our first meeting had 11 people, we currently draw 40 - 50 people to each meeting.

As a fledgling ministry under the Association of Unity Churches, Rev. Linda Pendergrass is our Spiritual Leader and Rev. Jill Carey is our Spiritual Coach.  John Connor is our first, and for now our only, Licensed Unity Teacher
