Great Music From Great Local Musicians

Downtown Unity Circle features great local musicians every weeks.  Here are some of the talent we feature and where you can find their music.  Soon we will be adding video and audio clips so you can sample their performances.

Leeann Atherton came to Austin via Charleston and Nashville.  Her songwriting suitcase is full of a seamless blend of twang, soul, gospel and blues.  She put herself though school singing in a beach music dance band.  For more about Leeann click here.
Cindy Pitts is a singer/songwriter with a beautiful voice, a natural melodic style and poetic lyrics. Her songs reflect many styles including: folk, jazz, country, rock, pop, funk and others.  For more about Cindy click here.
Kit Holmes is a vocalist and award-winning songwriter who has spent a lifetime working in music.  Kit began her songwriting career at the age of 9 with a song about her dog.  She continued to write through high school where she developed her piano skills and love of jazz and theater.  For more about Kit click here.
Katie Onken is realtor by day and lead for the "Katie O Combo" by night.  Katie sings everyone's favorite standards in her own unique style, honed from years onstage in musical theater, nightclubs and gospel choir.  For more about Katie visit her My Space page.
Barbara Dieckmann is a terrific vocalist and songwriter who has lead our music twice and will definitely be invited back.  Barbara doesn't have the big web presence of the other vocalist listed here, but that is just a matter of time.  She is just to good to keep it a secret for long.
Rick Busby is the president of the Austin Songwriter's Group. He is a member of Unity of the Hills and will play for us for the first time on Nov. 29th.  For samples of Rick's music and an interview, check out his website.
Renee Kaplowitz sings with a power and soul that feels like it is going to lift the roof.  She sings a variety of jazz, R&B, blues and Gospel tunes.  She has sung for us twice since Downtown Unity Circle formed... and it won't be the last time because when she finished people stand up and cheer!
