Welcome...

Zilker Park, the University of Texas and the state capitol building. Our
spiritual "adventure" is to find God in everything and everyone.
Message From Our Minister
Monday Jan 30th began the 15th annual Gandhi-King Season for Peace and Non-Violence. A season for Nonviolence, January 30 - April 4, is a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world. In honor of SNV I will begin a 7 Sunday series of lessons based on the powerful and transformative Unity bestseller "The 'I' of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace" by Rev. Dr. Gary Simons. Reverend Simons is a Unity Minister, the former Director of Peacemaking for Unity Worldwide Ministries and holds a 4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon do. He integrates spiritual principles, biblical quotes and martial arts philosophy as well as concepts from modern science, especially quantum theory, and Ken Wilber's Integral Spirituality. In this way he points us to the "I" of the storm of conflict, to our spiritual Self, as the means of realizing peace in our lives. This Sundays Lesson Title: "No One is Against You." Come join us as we explore how this can be true for us and for our world. Blessings, Tony |
Second Saturday Book Study Class
Begins Saturday, February 11th at 9:30 AM.
This year has been declared the Year of Spiritual Discovery by Unity Worldwide Ministries. In honor of this, the group will meet for a monthly potluck brunch to study and discuss the book "Discover the Power Within" by Eric Butterworth.
This powerful classic Unity work has been the catalyst for spiritual transformation for millions including such notables as Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelou. This class will be facilitated by our new minister, Rev. Tony Roebuck, on the second Saturday of each month and be hosted in February at his home at 8600 Brodie Lane, Apt 731. We hope you will join us.
What's So Different
About Unity?
Downtown Unity is a progressive and adventuresome spiritual community.
What do we mean by "adventuresome?" We are less prescriptive
than most. We try to provide you the tools to find your spiritual path; and to
find God in everything and everyone.
We are members of Unity Worldwide Ministries. Unity offers practical spiritual teachings that empower people to lead healthy, abundant and meaningful lives. Many say Unity practices "practical Christianity."
Unity provides
an alternative to negative religious experiences. We are inclusive and
open-minded. We encourage personal initiative and growth.
We believe that prayer works! We strive to help people find a stronger
connection to God every day and we honor all paths to God.
We have inspiring ministers and are involved in social action... and social
activities. We believe in making a differnce in the world. And we believe
in being a positive example and role model.
We Welcome Everyone
Your race, spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, or whatever some group once told you made you unwanted, probably doesn't matter to us.
We want to invite you to join us at next Sunday's service for what we promise to be a thought provoking, inspiring and fun hour. Youth Education services take place at the same time.We meet every Sunday at 10:30 AM. Our meeting location is:
The American Legion Post 76
404 Atlanta Street
Austin TX 78703
That's just off Mopac and Lake Austin Blvd. behind Run-Tex. Atlanta Street is a
continuation of the south bound access road on Mopac, headed down to the river
front.
We meet upstairs room in a beautiful 19th century home with a lawn over-
looking Lady Bird Lake.
